Boundless; infinite; vast: The Unlimited Skies.

Finally finished this piece and I must say, despite a few nitpicks, I'm pretty happy with it. Even if I don't win the lineart contest I'm entering this in, I'm very pleased with the results.

The *color-me-club is holding a contest for the month of September and our theme was unlimited. The example they gave was unlimited power and to be honest, the first idea that popped into my head was this unlimited legion of undead zombies coming to eat the screen. =B

Sadly, my results on that flumped and I got sick of it before I was even done the sketch. I hobbled my way over to dictionary.com and found the second definition as stated at the beginning of my artists comments and then it hit me:

What if we all had four wings to support us? To let us fly about and land with grace and leave and return at our leisure? The possibilities would be endless and suddenly that empty sky would be boundless: an unlimited space to be free.

Theeeen I started to realize just how busy the sky would become. It'd be like the next highway or something.

Anywhack, long story short: I'm grateful that we only have airplanes, and this is my contest entry. 8D Enjoy you ninnies!

It's mostly so coloring it doesn't make it that you have to squint to see it, but I can downsize it for those without tougher computers who would also like to download it.

P.S.-> Right, character. Her name is Saki-Ran and she's Shima's younger sister, believe it or not. Shima, for some reason, I've always imagined looking young for her age and when I designed her sister I imaged her looking older then she actually is. So cha.

P.P.S.-> Wow, this is long. No matter, the important stuff is bolded for the lazies.

Hah, I was going to comment on her looking older, but it seems I was beat. Her wings are really mighty, but surely they look like the sky is unlimited.

A plus for flying would be traveling further much faster. If I had had the stamina I maybe could've flown over the atlantic, but I severely doubt it.

Looks great - in terms of varying line thicknesses and the details on the folds. The pose is still very good.

The sky is and endless quantity, I like the thought behind it...
...even so I demand zombie legion!

Yeah, Shima and her sister have different flying patterns because of that though. Saki-Ran here is a tough flyer who can hover in spot and carry large amounts at a time, but she doesn't have much endurance. Shima can fly very long distances and has a much longer flight time, but she can't hover or carry anything too heavy. 8D

Very true. I don't think it'd take as much stamina as swimming it would though, much shorter distance in comparison. :nod:

Awe, it'd be fun to try though. X3

At least Shima can fly somewhere while carrying stuff, eh?
They are both interesting; now they just need good personalities, but those are still in your head.

Of course, it would be fun to try. And if only a few had the power...they would be called freaks. But they'd be awesome freaks.

Haha, yup. Saki-Ran is much more tomboyish then Shima. Shima can fly further and faster, Saki-Ran is much more powerful and such. Because of their demon lineage was the excuse I used for making then look so close in age though. Perhaps they're only a few years apart, is what I was thinking.

Good personalities are ALWAYS mandatory for me. The very immediate step after creating what the character looks like is their personality if it hasn't already been shaped in with their appearance. --nodnod--

I'll admit though, on the half of Saki-Ran, I don't have too too much development, but that's mostly because I haven't really gotten to roleplay her much.

Awesome freaks is right. I would send them cookies.

Yeah, when people have longer lifespans siblings tend to end up looking the same age in the end (what's 3 years when both of them are over 300...I mean, over 9000!!!).

I usually solve things like that with there being an internal hierarchy between the two siblings (there are quite a few pairs of siblings that appear in my story-timeline). Usually how it is with twins. Even if one of them is 3 minutes older, he or she is still the older one and will not let the other one forget.

I create either the appearance or personality first. Then the role of the character got in pretty early. Some of the characters in my latest story began simply as roles (and remained so until very late in the process), but most of them have gained their appearance and personalities by now.

Guess we'll have to get Saki-Ran developed some then, eh?

Haha, well even in real life that's quite common. Shima is just far too nice for her own good though and probably would let Saki-Ran push her around a bit. (I say probably because I've yet to have them interact).

Y'sum! I'll have to find some somebody to roleplay her with. =D
